Grab your coffee or your matcha — we’re about to unpack the mindset, systems, and vision behind my No Plan B life.
I used to think I needed a safety net — a backup plan, a “just in case.” But the truth is, the net was keeping me stuck. Stuck in old patterns. Stuck in survival mode. Stuck in a life that didn’t fit me.
As a solo mom with dynamic disabilities, chronic illness, and a low-energy nervous system, I’ve had to rethink everything — from work to wellness to what’s actually sustainable. The typical hustle culture advice? Doesn’t apply here. And I know I’m not the only one who feels that way.
So here’s what I’ve decided: I’m going all in on me. No Plan B. Just courage, coffee, and content creation. This is the season of building — intentionally, strategically, and differently.
In this post, I’m sharing:
The safety net felt safe — but it was also a trap. The longer I clung to it (old jobs, fallback options, perfectionism), the more I delayed stepping into the life I actually wanted to live.
For me, that looks like:
The safety net was keeping me “comfortable” in a life I was actively trying to outgrow. So I decided to let it go — not because I’m fearless, but because I finally trust myself to figure things out as I go.
Am I scared? Absolutely. But I’m more afraid of staying stuck than I am of failing forward.
When I imagine my future self still trapped in survival mode — still watching my dreams drift further away — that’s the fear that lights a fire under me. That kind of fear doesn’t freeze me. It fuels me.
It might sound counterintuitive, especially since I talk a lot about creating a calm nervous system and designing a life I don’t need to escape from. But here’s the truth: Sometimes, the fear of repeating a painful past is more powerful motivation than the desire for an unfamiliar future.
I saw this quote on Instagram (still trying to track down the original source — if you know who said it, please let me know):
“Your nervous system will always choose a familiar hell over an unfamiliar heaven. Heal, so you can choose differently.”
That stopped me in my tracks.
Because what I’m doing now — this whole process — is the opposite of settling for the familiar hell. I’m actively rewiring myself to reject the familiar hell and to choose the unfamiliar heaven instead. For me it's along the same lines as, "choose your hard". Do I want to stay in a life that destroys me gradually day by day, or do I want to do something that scares me but makes me excited to be alive?
I don’t want a life that’s just “fine.” I want a life that feels alive.
So now, when fear shows up, I don’t see it as a warning to retreat — I see it as a signal I’m expanding. A sign I’m moving toward something that may be unfamiliar to me but could be bigger and better than what I've experienced in the past. All it is, is the fear of the unknown trying to keep me somewhere familiar, even if the familiar is no good for me.
The fact of the matter is, you have to escape your current reality if you want to step in to that life that you don’t need to escape from anymore.
Big dreams need structure — especially when you’re working with limited energy. My brain isn’t wired for chaos anymore. So here’s how I’m making progress feel possible now:
🧠 My Notion Life Design Operating System
I've been creating a personalized system in Notion to help me manage everything — from business tasks to personal goals to housework.
It's a whole ecosystem for getting things done. It's how I intend to avoid burnout and make achieving my big picture vision more manageable and attainable... because when you have limited energy, brain fog, and are multi-passionate, trying to figure out what to do and where to focus without a clear structure just doesn't work.
My system is built around an adapted version of the PARA Framework (Projects, Areas, Resources, Archives). This system helps keep my priorities clear. It's truly my second brain.
My adapted version works something like this:
The Big Picture Vision is my why, my dreams, my big audacious goals, and my roadmap.
Categories are my major life categories: Personal, Professional, Home & Life.
Areas are the major on-going areas of focus or responsibilities within each category, like Health & Wellness, Content Creation, or Home Maintenance for example.
Projects live within those areas and have clear goals + deadlines.
Tasks are the projects broken down step-by-step into bite-size actions so I always know what to do next.
This isn’t just a productivity hack. This is about prioritizing each area of my life so that I can design a holistic existence that makes room for everything that makes life worth living- health and wellness, happy relationships, fun and creativity.
It’s too easy to get tunnel vision or lose focus and let important areas of our lives slide so far down the list that they fall off completely. Not anymore!
Along with my fatigue and scattered brain, one of my biggest blocks when it came to creating was my perfectionism. I’d overthink every post, every video, every idea to the point of paralysis.
But now? I’ve dropped the pressure and shifted into a new mode that blends “building in public” and batching for better consistency.
Here’s my rough plan:
This plan will evolve as I find my rhythm but it makes starting actually feel so much more possible. No more waiting until everything’s “ready.” Done is better than perfect. Progress beats perfection every single time and action is the antidote to anxiety.
Hard days still come — flare-ups, low-energy weeks, life curveballs (like that ice storm we just had that knocked our power out for a week). But now I have a system that holds me up when I can’t hold everything myself.
My Notion dashboard has my 3-year plan, my goals, my routines, and even my vision board. It reminds me why I started and where I’m headed. That’s the key — building a system that supports you when life happens.
I used to fall apart every time something went wrong. Now I just… pause, reset, come back to center, and pick up where I left off. That’s peace. That’s progress.
I'm building the foundation and the anchor that, for many years, I just didn't have.
If you’re standing where I was — exhausted, overwhelmed, dreaming of more but scared to leap — I want you to know this:
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need to start.
Start messy. Start with what you’ve got. Start while you're scared.
Start before you feel ready.
There’s no “perfect” moment — only the one you choose to claim.
You’re not behind. You’re building. You’re brave.
And if no one’s told you lately: I believe in you. 💕
PS: If you want to build your own “No Plan B” life — the kind that fits you — I’ll be sharing more about my Life Design system, content strategy, and entrepreneurial journey in upcoming posts. Stick around. We’re just getting started. ✨
